One of the base necessities in life is food. You will spend most of your life revolving around the kitchen. Make sure it is attractive and that it is a place that you want to be. The wrong atmosphere can dampen your mood as well as those around you. The right paint job seems to make your troubles fade.
Preparation is the center stone to successfully painting your kitchen cabinets. The type of cabinet you have can determine the paint used. Before we begin, the cabinet doors and drawers should be removed along with the hardware such as latches and knobs. We clean the cabinets from any dirt and allow them to dry. Cleaning all the surfaces to be repainted is necessary.
The cabinets need to be sanded if doing more than a face lift, the dust must be then vacuumed, and the surfaces must be wiped down. The next thing that should be done is to apply a primer-sealer to all the surfaces. A primer-sealer provides resistance to stains and is easier to clean. The cabinets are then ready to be painted.
Paint should be allowed to dry for at least four hours before the next coat. Re-sanding is the next step to prepare the cabinets for the next coat of paint. Wipe away the sanding dust then repaint. Two coats of good quality paint are usually all that’s necessary. However, a third coat can be done to protect them from day to day use.
